Hey There!

Welcome to my cozy corner of the internet! For the past 16 years, blogging has been my passion—a place where I pour out my thoughts, share random musings, and chronicle my adventures as a self-growth enthusiast, avid traveler, and coffee lover. Writing is my therapy, and this blog is my sanctuary. I hope my words bring you a sense of connection and inspiration. So, grab your coffee, settle in, and let’s journey through life together. ♡

COV-EID 2020

It's the 15th of Syawal. I hope I'm not too late for my Eid post. This year Eid is rather special than the year before since this year is the first time ever we celebrate Eid without our distant relatives. The borders are closed, no one came to our house, and we are not going back to our hometown in Johor. Mom and dad were trying so hard for Raya's preparation so that we didn't feel like our Eid had been robbed. Dad bought frozen ketupat palas, beef rendang, kuah lodeh, kek lapis, and mom, don't get me started, she did the most for this year Raya preparations, from six hours of preparing Raya dishes to rearranging our house furniture, replacing curtains, etc., etc., And Alhamdulillah, I'm sure it is a blessing that I quit working in Johor before this whole pandemic mess, thus the opportunity to celebrate Eid with my family.

8.30 am
It was 8.30 am. I battled so hard with my inner self to perform Raya prayer (don't judge me, chained Syaytain had been released).

8.45 am
I finally decided to get up and took a shower. After performing Raya prayer with my family, we had the typical Raya dishes which we prepared the day before for breakfast, went back to our room, dressed up the nicest outfit that we had, I put on simple light makeup with a dab of lipstick and simple accessory I specially bought for Raya recently - no red blushes, no mascara and no more Auni calling me 'kakak barbie' this year, and we all get ready for out ritual Eid morning, Family Photoshoot!

10 am
We did video-call with our Johorean and Singaporean family members just as planned. Suddenly, it hit me that I have too many family members. Although it is a pity that we were not allowed to socialize with families and friends as we usually do, I have to say that I like this year, Eid, that I don't have to answer all my relatives' typical Raya questions. Sorry, I'm bad at socializing.

12 pm
The video-calling session ended. Mom continued her video-calling session with her distant relatives from the USA. We all went back to our normal MCO activities. Watching Netflix all day long.

Although we're already in the mid of Syawal, and I know this year COV-Eid is hard, I'm still wishing you guys Happy Eid and may this Eid bring you happiness nonetheless, and I sincerely apologize to you guys if any of my writings hurt you and offended you. Let's hope the virus will stop soon, and we'll get out normal day back. I miss traveling so much;'( Cheers.
