Hey There!

Welcome to my cozy corner of the internet! For the past 16 years, blogging has been my passion—a place where I pour out my thoughts, share random musings, and chronicle my adventures as a self-growth enthusiast, avid traveler, and coffee lover. Writing is my therapy, and this blog is my sanctuary. I hope my words bring you a sense of connection and inspiration. So, grab your coffee, settle in, and let’s journey through life together. ♡

12 Things in April/May

With all of this CMCO mess, I must say, blogging is one of my ways to keep my mind sane. What a better way to ease me back into blogging than with a 12 things blog post?

SSince we're on CMCO, I didn't really go out, I didn't do any productive activities, and all I did was eat, sleep, watch movies, and play video games,. I don't really have enough 12 things to list out, so I decided to fit in a few of April things into this month's 12 things. Here we go…
  1. What I've been watching...
Keeping Up with Kardashian - I started watching KUWK when Youtube recommended one of their clips, and now I'm hooked. Their family drama is amusing to me, scripted or not. And a few days later, they announced their first two seasons will be aired on Netflix starting June, which is so exciting!
Once Upon a Time - The first season was painfully slow, and I watched them until season 4, I couldn't stand the main character, Emma Swan. She is simply the most irritating character/person of all time. If I wasn't a big fan of Disney princesses when I was a kid, and if it isn't for Josh Dallas, I'd already stop watching them since the beginning of season 1.
Come and Hug Me - I heard a lot of good reviews of this drama, so I started watching it with a high expectation, and this drama did live up to it, though only during the first half of it. It hits really deep with its words and can make you tear up on the spot. I grew obsessed with it, loving every thrilling part of it at first, but halfway through the drama, my interest in it simply stopped. I was interested in the romance the younger versions had because it was relatable and fresh, but the kdrama forced it after all that time and dragged it on. It no longer had flavor and was unrealistic.
The Legacies - I'm a fan of the supernatural series The Vampire Diaries and their spin-off The Originals. This new spin-off series is definitely a must-watch. Rewatched them for the third time, and it's nice to have a show in the Vampire Diaries universe that is more light-hearted. Couldn't wait for the third season to come out
Harry Potter -  Way too overrated. Don't sue me, but I just don't understand the hype.

  2. Getting back into reading.
I'm into Mitch Albom these days. Finished reading two of his books, For one more day and The five people you met in heaven and still counting. I have a habit of jotting down quotes or passages I like from the book I read into my personal journal. So, here are two of my favorite excerpts from The five people you met in heaven by Mitch Albom.

"Sacrifice is a part of life. It's supposed to be. It's not something you regret. It's something to aspire to"
"Holding an anger is a poison. It eats your from inside. We think that hating is a weapon that attacks the person who harmed us, but hatred is a curved blade. And the harm we do, we do to ourselves."

  3. Major room makeover
After a few attempts of rearranging my bedroom, I finally decided to make a significant room makeover. I had a few things in my mind, but I'm a very visual person, so I need to see them in real life to actually make it work. I've been putting it together since the beginning of the year. I ordered a few bits from IKEA and Shopee, curating it to create a space that makes me happy and inspired to look at. Most of them haven't arrived yet, but let's see how things will turn out.
  4. COV-Eid
This year Eid is rather special than the previous year since it's the first year we celebrated Eid without our distant relatives. The borders were closed, no one came to our house, and we were not returning to our hometown. My parents were trying so hard for Raya's preparation that we don't feel like our Eid had robbed and make sure we celebrated Raya as much as we did in the previous years.

  5. Ammar's birthday
It was Ammar's birthday in May, and our family had dinner together at our house to celebrate it. It was nice ;)

  6. A canceled trip to Switzerland
Unfortunately, we had to cancel our most anticipated trip to Switzerland last month which disappoints me, but hopefully will be able to go next year.
    Let's meet in the future.
  7. Garden of Eden serum
One of my favorite beauty products at the moment is the Garden of Eden serum. I use it a couple of times a week before going to bed, and besides the wonderful scent, it has been helping to keep my dry skin moist through the night.

  8. New hobby
As I shared in one of my previous posts I wanted to learn new hobbies. Recently, I've been learning drawing/painting and taking flat lay photos. I'm still an amateur, nothing compared to other bloggers out there, but still, one of my bucket lists crossed off

  9. Playing video games
A couple of weeks ago, I redownloaded the Sims Freeplay on my phone, which was my latest obsession. Besides being so much fun, it gave me some control (something I feel I'm lacking these days) over what happens and helped my mind focus on something else rather than these stressful times. I discovered the cheat way to have unlimited Simoleon, and I've been doing that to build new houses and mansions, not an architect/civil engineer, but I did it! Most of the items were ridiculously expensive, but I managed.

  10. I bought a canvas painting
I was scrolling through my Shoppe feed looking for something to buy and suddenly found this one canvas. It's beautiful, hasn't arrived yet, it was on sale, and I know it was just my lust taking over me, and I felt like it, so I hold nothing back.

  11. NCT Dream comeback
NCT Dream made their comeback last April. I don't know what's gotten into my sister, but she bought tonnes of NCT albums last month from NCT 2018 to the most recent one, and guess who benefited the most and got her bias photocards? Me! The perk of having a sister who's also a Kpop fan.

  12. Feeling grateful despite the pandemic
I admit I've been complaining a lot the past few weeks about how bored I am, and that's the worse effect MCO had on me. It made me realize that I'm privileged in so many aspects. I was able to enjoy Ramadhan and Eid with my family, no financial crisis, and still have a roof over my head while some people are dying, lost a job, and there are families who wonder where their next meal is coming from. Covid-19 pandemic that leads to MCO, made me appreciate life more and be grateful to Allah for always loves us no matter
